Papertrey November Blog Hop Challenge

November Blog Hop

Here is our lovely Thanksgiving inspiration.

I wanted to make some Thanksgiving favors for our guests. I also wanted to play with my new Winter Wonderland Kit. So I took the plaid and browns for the photo, Betsy's neat favor idea and made these:

Not only are they cute, there is chocolate inside!

Here is one Winter Wonderland fall tip: When you cut out the trees, save the top most section that you would throw away. Turn it upside down, trim it and it looks like a bat!

How fun would that be for a Halloween card!

We are still enjoying guest. So have a happy hop y'all!

MAKE IT MONDAY #301

MATTING WITH GLITTER

Ooo glitter! Of course I have a lifetime stash that doesn't get used too often =) Lizzie gave us some wonderful tips for using glitter.

My card was busy, so my glitter mat is simple:

Letterpress detail:

I did a letterpress technique with Rustic Wreath, added snowflakes from Quilted Winter,
a sentiment from Christmas Cheer and pink sequins to finish.

I will need to try this some more. I really liked Lizzie's cards with the curved/decorative edges of glitter!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Noelle

Papertrey October Blog Hop Challenge

Our inspiration:

I was inspired by the third picture and the fifth, and knew I had to have a mountain card:

It ended up being a mountain card with a letterpress look:

So I kept the card really simple so it didn't distract from the letterpress look. An the less cute details the more the card will work as a masculine card. Always need more of those!

A letterpress watercolored mountain from Scene it: Mountain View die
and a hello from You've Been Framed: Hexagon Mini.

The letterpress tutorial I was inspired to try: http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/10/die-cut-letterpress-giveaways.html

Have a happy hop!

BUILD-A-WREATH

Melissa gave us great tips to make wreaths, and I know there will be lots of lovely wreath cards!
I had a little head start because I said the next card I should make is a fall card and I already had my Rustic Wreath set out!

I cut one wreath out of glitter paper and one out of brown. Then I added details with the Mini Blooms set and sequins. My sentiment is from Phrase Play #7 with some wink-of-Stella on it.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Noelle

SENTIMENT WINDOWS

We survived the September where everything starts! (school, Awana, soccer, & Piano lessons, plus a big family vacation to Disneyland and the flu hitting later too...phew) I was happy to have a little time to create.

I made a snowflake window today:

I had fun playing with the new to me dies for Snowflake Medley. I used some pattern paper, PTI ink, and a sentiment from O Holy Night.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Noelle

P.S. Thought I would share my favorite pictures from our vacation:

It was my parents dream to take the kids to Disneyland, so along with my sister too we made it happen.

This one always makes me laugh.

SAF 2017: 5th Anniversary 2

SAF 2017: 5th Anniversary - Wood
Challenge 2

Bummer I can't make it through all the challenges...I really wanted to make some salt dough and wool projects. But this will have to be the last one for now:

An inked wood grain background and all the cuteness of Stylized Autumn.

Goodnight SAF 2017,
Noelle

SAF 2017: 5th Anniversary

SAF 2017: 5th Anniversary - Wood
1st challenge

I was blown away by Lizzie's wood hexagon card! I am in love with this technique, it makes me look like I am an excellent wood worker that can do intricate wood inlay. So so pretty!

I only had balsam wood and a few copic markers but managed to pull this off:

I used Scene it: Mountian View die and Noted Die (‘hello’)

Thank you Lizzie for this neat idea. I hope to try it again with veneer. And all the projects you ladies have done are beautiful!

Happy SAF!

SAF 2017: 3rd Anniversary

SAF 2017: 3rd Anniversary Leather

challenge 1

Is getting up at 5 to finish cards crazy...maybe a little =)

Here's my try at leather made from paper:

I tried some different browns, but I think I over scrunched...my 'leather' ended up quite wrinkly. I'll have to practice this. I used the Give Thanks set and the leaf from Phrase Play #7 to embellish the leather.

Happy SAF 2017!

Paper - 2nd challenge

I found time to finish a card =)
Here is my take on Laura's lovely paper & vellum technique.

I wish I had that cover plate I would have made her exact card, it's so pretty!
But I grabbed What the Doodle Feather and had fun:

A little ink smoothing, sentiment from Song Birds, and some sequins finished off my card.

Happy SAF 2017!

SAF 2017: 1st Anniversary

SAF 2017: 1st Anniversary - Paper
Challenge one

Ok those tassels and little bags of confetti were too cute!
I decided to make a large fun tag:

I tried Rebecca's paper bow and confetti bag idea. I used PTIs Shaker and Sprinkles kit...perfect fit no? =) My tag base is from the Post and Parcel kit.

Happy SAF!

SAF 2017:Warm Up

SAF 2017: Take Ten Warm Up Challenge

I told my hubby I need the weekend off...he laughed. But i'm sneaking in some challenges.

Here is the inspiration I chose:

I know all those pretty colored ones and my brain started coming up with black and white ideas =)

My Card (and envelope)

I was inspired my the black line patterns, paper clips, and circle of sting. So I grab my PTI Clipsters set and Circle Scribbles set and had a blast!

Happy SAF!

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

Our elegant inspiration:

I was drawn to the monochromatic stamps and thought I would try and re-create something similar:

It was really fast and relaxing to stamp with just one color =)
I used the die from Post & Parcel for my stamp looking mats.

Supplies
Hawaiian Shores Ink
Songbirds stamp set
Mini Blooms stamp set
Beautiful Brush Strokes stamp set

I hope you have a wonderful week! 3 of the 4 kiddos are at Nana & Papa's this week. I'm enjoying the free time, but it is sooooo quiet! =)

Happy Hop!

CREATE ALONG WITH US: JULY 2017

Lots of beautiful inspiration coming our way this week from Papertrey Ink! Here's one from Betsy:

The new Mix and Match dies made me think of the Post & Parcel kit.

I was inspired to use a Post & Parcel die as a mat in my card:

I'm a little late to the Petite Places party, but I got a few new sets that I have been having fun with! The Sweet Shop and the City Station. Here's some more just for fun:

It's officially summer at our house now that we finished our homeschool year! So I've been having a little summer fun myself =)

Have a wonderful week!

BUILDING WREATHS WITH SMALL IMAGES

I've stayed up too late playing with the Tinsel & Tags Sprigs set but had fun making a wreath for each season:

What a fun challenge Lizzie!  I just had to try it =)

PANTONE CHIP INSPIRED CARDS

A lot of the time I am drawn to a simple graphic look and Lexi's challenge was right up that alley! Her cards looked so fun I had to find time to try it:

I played with Summer Sweetness - my first PTI set I ever bought =)
Words from Swoosh, Pretty Petals, and One Big Happy. I did some dry embossing for the back grounds.

Have a good evening!

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Our lovey inspiration:

I didn't have an idea for my card until my newly purchased You've Been Framed: Hexagon dies and 'hello' Noted Die arrived. I thought the hexagon shape matched well with the shape of the vases and I came up with this:

The 'hello' was masked then ink blended. Then the hexagon piece was coved in glossy accents to match the vases. I also used Beautiful Brush strokes to add the flowers.

Wow...it's been a while. I'm having to remember how to blog =) It was just was a busy spring with the girls' school & activities. Plus little Mr. who is now 10 months old getting so busy! And nice weather means time to try to grow a garden and pick lots of weeds! It sadly leaves little time to make cards =( But I'm still watching, looking, dreaming and I'll join when I can.
Have a great hop,
Noelle

MAKE IT MONDAY #282

STENCILED WATERCOLOR BACKGROUNDS

Happy Saturday!
I had some time to try a stencil from the Post & Parcel Kit.
I used the snow stencil to make some watercolored confetti:

I stamped 'Celebrate' from Celebrate Big and gave it a water wash so it looked watercolored. Then I punched out some balloons and watercolored them. String and clear sequins finished the cards off.

We are crafting this morning and have a bee field trip this afternoon!

Have a wonderful day!
