Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

Happy Hop Day!

Here is our inspiration photo for this month.

My daughter was inspired by the circles and had her card made it about 20 minuets =)

I thought her layered circles were wonderful.

I'm a fan of CAS and of graphic design. This photo inspired both.
I saw ink blending and did't make it much further than that =)
But I think it makes for great masculine cards.

I tried one with white lines and one without. After all that ink blending work I was nervous to draw on top of them! Then I was crazy and cut the second one =)

I also thought they have a fun 80's feel.

Happy hopping today!

MAKE IT MONDAY #246

 FAUX BRUSH LETTERING

Oooo how to 'fake watercolored' pretty hand lettering - I'm in! What a fun technique to try out this week. I was bumming yesterday about 'affordable' health insurance (no fun when 'affordable' will now be double our old premiums =( So I had to go cheer up and make a card!

At first I was afraid I would have to try a small sentiment...then OhYeah! I found this stamp:

I stamped it in Simply Chartreuse and added shading with Ripe Avocado. Stamped a few arrows and splattered a little ink and called it good. I hope to have time to make a pink/girly version today.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Friday

P.S. Are any of you part of a Christian healthcare sharing plan? (Medishare or Samaritan)
Do you like it? Any complaints?

Create Along With Us:

April 2016

Once again, lots of pretty projects this month! I look forward to what each day of the release brings. And you can't go wrong with butterflies =)
I was drawn to Laurie's design:

I liked how you could dress up a lovely background with a few simple, white elements!

So here was my take:

I had to flip the design because my background had an 'oops'.
I tried a watercolor lifting technique to make the background.(http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2016/02/watercolor-lifting.html)
Then did some partial die cutting on my vellum.

COLOR ISOLATION

Ashley's challenge for us this week was on the sweet and simple side. I had about 6 stamp sets I wanted to try this with...but there's not enough time =) I did get to try it with two sets:

Songbirds:

Background in soft stone. Color isolation in a blended Hawaiian Shores and Ocean Tides.

Background in Fine Linen. Color isolation in a blended Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest

 Fancy That:

A one layer card with the background in soft stone. Color isolation in a blended Hawaiian Shores and Ocean Tides.

Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

MAKE IT MONDAY #244

MAKE IT MONDAY #244:

SCORE LINES

I am a fan of clean and simple and lots of white space. Laurie's score technique is awesome for adding interest to that white space! I put a score pal on my wish list and hope to try this out more in the future. Here is my first try:

The score lines are hard to catch on camera, but they are there =) There are three score lines to match the three lines on the bowl.

Stamps:
Praying For You
Bowl of Sunshine
Second Helping of Sunshine

Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by!
