MAKE IT MONDAY #243

MAKE IT MONDAY #243:

INK BLENDING OVER HEAT EMBOSSING

Had to wait for some sunshine before I could take a picture =) Our Spring Break has not been very sunny but we are still enjoying the time off of school. My poor hubby is not...his relief goat milker quit after 4 days then he had to fire the regular milker. So this week he is milking goats at 6-11am and then again 6-11 pm! I'm thankful for such a hard working husband!

We got to say hello to a little one yesterday:

Half way there to baby #4! ( I feel like that is a lot! But God gives us what we need)

And finally my ink blending over heat embossing card =) A few ladies inspired me with their 'music note' stamping so I had to try it too:

Stamps:
'Songbird'

"They hung him on a cross for you and me"
May you take some time to reflect on this Good Friday.

We had several lovely inspiration photos this month. This was my favorite:

It was quite a unique inspiration and at first I was baffled on what I would make.
Then while stamping with the 'Fancy That' set I got an idea:

I wish I could make 20 more of these! I really like how they turned out, but my fingers are so soar from pushing and pulling the thread through card stock! I even pre-poked my holes. If you sew more do you stop getting soar fingers? =)

I also tried a card using 'Songbirds':

I tried a thicker string (didn't work as well) and added some seed beads for fun.

Thanks for stopping by and happy hopping!

Create Along With Us: March 2016

Create Along With Us

March 2016

There are always too many lovely projects to choose from. This week I spotted Maile's card with a simple yet sophistocated black and white floral pattern.

I hadn't tried that often, so I went for it:

I tried to keep this first one simple so it could be sent to a male if needed. Then I did a set of white & colors with sequins:

Stamps:
One Big Happy set
Pretty Petals
Keep it Simple: Praying for you

I have a goal of making about 70 'praying for you cards' to be able to give to BSF leaders for them to use. I am slowly getting there =) Hopefully by next fall.

Have a wonderful day!

MAKE IT MONDAY #242

MAKE IT MONDAY #242: SPONGED STAMPING

I had an Easter card idea and this technique came in handy!
It helped me create some gradient ink blending on my background:

(click on the picture to view larger)

I grabbed the 'On the Farm' scene and blended the sky from Summer Sunrise to Berry Sorbet. Then the grass was blended from Simply Chartreuse to New Leaf. I added the 'Petite Place Church' and then Happy from 'One Big Happy' with some Wink of Stella on that =) An old Easter stamp and some dots on the bottom finished it off.

Thank you for the tips Dawn!
Have a great day!

MAKE IT MONDAY #241:

OMBRE STENCILED BACKGROUNDS

What a fun video this week! I had my backgrounds done on Monday, but couldn't make it back to finish the cards till yesterday. I'm thankful to Betsy for he tips, I need to slow down my blending and be more patient!

First I blended yellow, green, blue:

Hard to get the yellow to look yellow in early morning light =) Baby was up at 5:30!
I learned too that yellow and green can start to look muddy.
I used a homemade stencil to add blue on top.
Good card for the guys.

Stamps and dies:
'One Big Happy'
Leaves from Phase Play #7

Then I had to try pink to purple:

I blinged this one up for the ladies...clear thread, sequins, water splats, glossy accents on the 'happy'

This was really fun and I'm ready to go make some more backgrounds!
Have a great weekend!
