Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

We were given this beautiful picture as inspiration:

First step: study the picture for a few days

Step two: sketch a few (too many) ideas

Step three: collect supplies that match picture

Step four: Have a blast and see what happens...

I had to play with gingham, buttons, stitches, and of course my Papertrey Ink popsicles =)
I cut felt for the fist time with my dies and that was awesome!

And then I wanted to try to make that rustic background and a CUTE banner.

It was such a fun picture I wish I had time to make more!
Have a great weekend!

Lucky Travelers

I have family and friends traveling soon and Danielle Fanders inspired me to make my travelers a card:

My grandpa is 88 and it has been his dream to visit Alaska and he gets to go!!
He kissed this card when I gave it to him =) Go follow your dream grandpa!

Ruffle Cards

After watching this old Make it Monday video I had to try making a ruffle card:

I thought the orange and silver turned out some elegant cards.

Make it Monday #172 Two

Rainbow Medallions

Since 'rainbow' wasn't working out for me I got carried away with green and yellow!
Warring: you may need some lemonaid after viewing =)

One green and blue too
Hope you are having a great summer day!

Rainbow Medallion

The inks I own did not make a good rainbow (I tried!) So my medallion is made with a few colors and a word stamp. I would have never used this stamp in this way if it wasn't for the inspiring Make it Monday video!
Thanks for the fun idea.

FUSION

FUSION {Red, White & Blue}

I did not know there were so many card challenges and inspirations out there!  I noticed several ladies linking to a Fusion challenge. So I went to check out their latest challenge:

I really like the photo! So I thought I'd give it a go:

I made a stencil, painted the strips, and used my Silhouette to make the flowers.

I tried embellishing this one a little more. Sometimes that's a challenge for me!
I don't think I would have made cards like these without the inspiration photo.
I also let my sister borrow my good camera so I had to make do with the ipad =)
It was fun to play along!

Pop Up Die Cuts

I didn't think I was going to join this weeks challenge. My BIG challenge was that I only own one set of dies so far...you guessed it...the cute popsicles =) And I didn't think it would make a good pop up. Then I got this idea:

A happy popsicle =)
I guess it is more of a 'lift' up die cut, but it was fun.

Last Make it Monday

Make it Monday #170

Here's my last card dressed up:

Masked pop with watercolor salt background. Pop is glitter embossed with seed bead sprinkles.
I think this is my favorite one =)

Masking with Die Cuts

I had no plans to make any more cards this week until (while doing my dishes) I watched this video:

Sprinkle of Salt TechniqueI thought how cool would that background be with a masked out shape! So I had to try it:

Here is the masked out popsicles with a watercolor salt background. I think they are pretty and could have stopped here.

But I thought I'd dress them up a little more. They are now glitter embossed with seed bead sprinkles!

A blue sparkly pop with a masked drip and blue staples.

The Good News

A Bulletin Graphic

This week I had a fun task of designing a graphic for a church bulletin.
I thought it was a fun way to illustrate the Good News which is for all people!

Make It Monday #170

Masking with Die Cuts

Papertrey Ink is so awesome! I have learned so much from watching the their videos and this latest  was no exception:

It's fun to see a scribble come to life

I masked off popsicles and stars then watercolored and stamped some backgrounds

Stamped a popsicle in the masked area then gave it some sparkle

This glitter popsicle adds dimension and pops off the page

Stamped a popsicle in the masked area then gave it some sparkle. Since my background colors and my stamped colors matched I felt I need the sparkle to help the stamp stand out. Last a star embellishment for fun!

This glitter popsicle also pops off the page and one more star embellishment.
Masking was so fun and I can't wait to add new dies to my collection so I can't try this some more!

God has truly Blessed America and I am so thankful for our country and all who keep us free. Wishing all a wonderful Independence Day!
