Blog Hop
We had several lovely inspiration photos this month. This was my favorite:
It was quite a unique inspiration and at first I was baffled on what I would make.
Then while stamping with the 'Fancy That' set I got an idea:
I wish I could make 20 more of these! I really like how they turned out, but my fingers are so soar from pushing and pulling the thread through card stock! I even pre-poked my holes. If you sew more do you stop getting soar fingers? =)
I also tried a card using 'Songbirds':
I tried a thicker string (didn't work as well) and added some seed beads for fun.
Thanks for stopping by and happy hopping!

I love your idea’s and then you went to town! Gorgeous hand stitched cards that will be treasured, Noelle!
ReplyDeleteOh my...these are absolutely beautiful Noelle! And what a perfect stamp to use to embroider on for your first cards...LOVE that look! And your Songbird card turned out so pretty too! And my fingers were a little sore after doing my card too...a telltale sign I'm not a seamstress!! :0)
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for this challenge and beautiful stitching!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautifully done! Love the stitching!
ReplyDeleteWow these are stunning creations! You are so creative and I hope your poor fingers recover soon.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Love the stitching!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a little stitching makes on these stamps! Just lovely. (Maybe a thimble to help prevent sore fingers in the future? lol)
ReplyDeleteI love your stitching! The Thank You card is my favorite - just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! The stitching completely changes the look of these stamps and makes for stunning cards!! I love them!! Such a great take on the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh my, the embroidered detail just is gorgeous on your cards. I admire your satin stitching skill! You have a very good eye for choosing which stamps to work with. The diagonal threads on the panel corners look great too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! these turned out amazingly!! : ) the perfect images for this technique.
ReplyDeleteTip: try poking the holes in your cs with a piercing tool before you actually put you needle and thread in your cs. It will really help those sore fingers : )

Beautiful stitching...what a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteKnow what? I think you win the creativity award! (if there isn't one, there should be, right?) These are brilliant and beautiful, and should be keepsakes for their recipient! And a PS to your question: as a needleworker for years, you learn to use a thimble, yes, you develop callouses after a while, which helps!!!
ReplyDeleteThese must be drop dead gorgeous in person, when one can touch the thread and admire the goodness! Beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. You did a great job. It wasn't as easy as it sounded :) Yes your fingers do get used to the sewing but who thought of doing it on paper.. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteLike you I will try using it again it was a fun challenge.
Gorgeous creations.....congrats on baby #4.....Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I would have liked to do!!! Perfect satin stitching and beautiful cards. Didn't you find it hard to pierce holes that closely together on cardstock? I had so much trouble.
ReplyDeleteso pretty…i love your stitches and their placement. well done!
ReplyDeleteAmazing stitching and fabulous way to combine it with stamping.
ReplyDeleteYou were certainly on a roll with the stitching. Each card is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteStunning cards! I use a bookbinders needle or a tapestry needle for sewing on cardstock and especially tapestry needles have a rounded tip (so no pricking of fingers). The tapestry needles are available at the big box stores and many Walmart.
ReplyDeleteThese cards are CAS perfect!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome embroidery!! Love your cards, and hope your poor, sore fingers heal soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful embroidery! I love your stamp choice!
ReplyDeleteLOVE how you highlighted those sections on that stamp! Looks amazing!
