MAKE IT MONDAY #269

 EMBOSSED + OUTLINED BACKGROUNDS

In my Christmas letter I said that my current hobby is waving at my craft supplies while passing to take care of kids =) Found a little time to play this week to try Betsy's neat technique.

I played with 'Rustic Wreath' -embossed it, colored around it and a little in it, added some red berries with fabric puffy paint and a sentiment!

Make It Monday #233

 Splattering

I was bummed in missing last weeks challenge that I had to combine the two. And splattering was probably one of my first card making techniques I tried, back as a preteen! So excited to go try it again!

I used 'Snowflake Melody' first in white then in color. Next I splattered the tags with come watered down gold paint. It was too fun not to seek in at the last minute!

My husband has been giving me a hard time for listening to a little Christmas music while I craft =)

I was inspired by many cards, but only had time for one.

Paper Casting

When I first saw this weeks video I though...oh bummer, you probably need some paper clay or pulp to do this....but nope just some good ol TP!! How fun this was. I did a few experiments and thought I'd leave these two as tags. I wasn't sure what else to do with them. Then I went and looked at everyone else's neat creations and was inspired to make them into cards:

I used 'simply framed' to first cut the TP. Then casted it in a dry embossing folder. The snow flakes are then embossed with sparkles and the mitten heart has glitter on it...bummer you can't capture sparkles well in pictures. The mitten is also casted and stamped with Hawaiian Shores.

My newest crafting buddy has arrived! She layed on my lap while we played with the TP this week =)

Make It Monday #176 and Festive Friday

Backgrounds with Embossing Paste

 Another card using one of my embossing paste experiments. I put black embossing powder on when the paste was wet and heated it the next day. At first it bubble up, but then the black smoothed out and covered so nicely! The snowflakes are also paste with sparkly embossing powder.

I was playing with adding a little black typewriter to this card too when I checked out the Festive Friday Blog. My black stripes and snowflake experiments went great with their challenge! So I'm linking up there too for the first time =)
