BUILD-A-WREATH

Melissa gave us great tips to make wreaths, and I know there will be lots of lovely wreath cards!

I had a little head start because I said the next card I should make is a fall card and I already had my Rustic Wreath set out!

I cut one wreath out of glitter paper and one out of brown. Then I added details with the Mini Blooms set and sequins. My sentiment is from Phrase Play #7 with some wink-of-Stella on it.

Is getting up at 5 to finish cards crazy...maybe a little =)

Here's my try at leather made from paper:

I tried some different browns, but I think I over scrunched...my 'leather' ended up quite wrinkly. I'll have to practice this. I used the Give Thanks set and the leaf from Phrase Play #7 to embellish the leather.

AUGUST 2016 BLOG HOP

Here was our inspiration picture:

It was an interesting combination of colors.

I wasn't sure if I could pull them off =) I gave my self a short 'before the kids wake up' window and was able to put a tag together:

I colored some embossing paste pink and made some stripes with a stencil. Next I cut out a tag.

Then added a 'Canyon Clay' colored 'too cute' fox, brown leaves, a little sentiment tag, and last a ribbon!

Wednesday Challenge

I wanted to get a few of these cards into the Monday stencil challenge...but missed the deadline. So since 'Anything Goes' this Wednesday here we go:

This cards is stenciled embossing paste with corse glitter. A felt leaf and a velum 'thanks'

Techniques

Use a technique...

I bet there are 100s of techniques. I hope one of the things I did today is one =)

Paper crumpling: This idea came to me in the middle of the night...funny how that happens. I wanted to crumple some paper and punch out some textured leaves.

Stitching: I stitched the leaves on to make a fun background. The hand stitched 'FALL' with two different colored threads.

Paper folding: I cut and folded a little 3D banner

Double Stamping: Stamped the big leaf in light and dark orange

Paper Piercing: pierced little holes all around my banner

Hopefully one of those counts as a technique =)

This was sure a fun card to make - the background is my favorite part.

Make it Monday #180

Paper Weaving

Because we are on a homeschool brake and just waiting for baby I think this was my first time making a 'Make it Monday' on a Monday =) But didn't get to post yesterday.

I had seen paper waving but haven't tried it yet. Thanks to Ashley's video it was time to try it. Make it  Mondays are so fun because they challenge and put a deadline on things I want to try - therefore I actually try them! =)

Fall seems to be on most of our minds =) I wove one orange piece and got two cards out of it!

'Simply Framed' this weave up at a diagonal then embellished and stamped it to be a fall birthday card.

Kept this one simple by adding 'thanks' and twin then letting the weave be the focus.

What a fun technique and a great way to use my scraps that I save too many of! Have a wonderful day.

I used a stencil to clear emboss around my sentiment and then was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's

video to watercolor! I ended up with a fun fall card to give my Dad for his birthday today!

Make It Monday #179

Emboss Resist Using Diecuts

What a fun video this week! Candy bar -haha - Laura is funny and I did end up eating a York patti while working on this card =)

Waiting for baby and I keep thinking I might not be able play this week...but snuck another one in =) And got to give it to my Dad for his Birthday today!

The ink is watercolored on with my Summer sunrise, Orange Zest and Pure Poppy inks.

Did some rockn' and rolln' with my leaf stamp inspired by Laura's beautiful cards she posted today!

I make a background where the ink was blended on - I'll have to see if I have time to make a card with it.

Back to School Easel Card

I've been thinking about this MIM all week and wanting to play. Had to stay home with sickly kids today so I got to play!

Used 'simply framed' die to make the easel, embossed with wood and then used 'simply framed' and 'Desktop Design' stamps to make this school version.
